We’re seeing “Self Defence” Seminars for Realtors being put on by Martial Artists on a regular basis.  One of the major issues here is what is “SELF DEFENCE”?  is it learning to fight?  Is it learning pain compliance techniques that hopefully will stop an attack?  How long do the seminars last? 2 hours, 3 hours? … it really doesn’t matter.   Martial Arts is not self defence.  Most martial arts today have been taken down to a sport level in order to be palatable for today’s consumer to enjoy and learn how to better themselves, that’s what martial arts is today.  There is no or very little high violent training in martial arts, martial arts involves high finight movements that unless  you have years of training, you will forget the moment you leave the door of your “Self Defence Seminar”.  The worst part of it all,  it brings a false sense of empowerment to people who when faced with a high violent encounter think they can defend themselves and get hurt or worse killed.

Self Defence or True Pure & Applied Self Defence Training is not about fighting, it’s about using a specific set of techniques and beliefs to remove yourself from high violent encounters.  It’s about learning awareness and mindfulness, it should include the understanding of violence and the types of violence Realtors face when doing their jobs.  It also needs to include what types of people that attack Realtors and why Realtors get attacked.

Violence against Realtors happens, we’ve heard the stories from the Realtors themselves, trying to learn complicated defensive tactics within a couple of hours is not an effective way to stay safe.  If you’re considering a Realtors Self Protection Workshop contact us to find out why PURE & APPLIED Self Defence is the only effective training “untrained fighters” and Realtors should ever have….

NOT TO MENTION that our  Realtor Self Protection & Strategies to Avoid Violence had been developed for Realtors to ensure they get home.
